The Arrow That Flies by Day is a clean Christian romance about faith, hope and the power of prayer. It is a story about a wounded marine’s efforts and ambition to conquer his physical wounds and overcome the obstacles in his path and achieve his dream of playing professional football and overcome his spiritual and emotional wounds to find redemption and win at the ultimate game of life.
The main character joins the service to avoid reform school and comes out physically and emotionally wounded. He has no family, and has only one friend, an old nun who was his inspirational high school principal and who would help him find his way.
After being wounded, a wound that made him impotent, he can only be a kicker like he was in high school. Even that did not come easily since he had broken his leg when he was in high school. But his father and his friend trained him to persevere and never to give up.
Our marine shows up at training camp one day with all his belongings. He never went to college or played on any college football team, but the aggressiveness he learned in the service and the commitment and inspiration he learned from his father and his friend help motivate him to succeed but also cause conflicts with certain teammates.
The story progresses through the professional and personal struggles for this man who does not know the meaning of surrender and who is filled with hope and faith. He is at first cut from the team because of the lack of experience, but an injury to the team’s kicker provides an opportunity for him to return and achieve his dream and play a crucial role in the team’s success.
Along the way he falls in love with a girl he knew in high school whom he meets by chance at her father’s restaurant, and he struggles to figure out how his wounds will affect their relationship.
But the romance and his career are cut short when our marine has to make a choice that causes him to lose everything he has worked for but to win an even bigger game – the game of life and find the road to redemption.

It is a story about the dangers of unbridled ambition and what happens when you lose your moral compass.
Although he fails spectacularly and experiences the depths of suffering and alienation caused by his own mistakes, his friend and old high school principal does not abandon him and helps him find hope, mercy and redemption by helping others rather than just himself. Most men die the way they have lived, but our senator does not. He learns to shed his old skin and emerge as a hero. But while he loses his life in the process, he also saves it, as well as his soul, as he proves it is never too late to change, atone and find hope, mercy and redemption with the help of an old friend and the mercy of God. He finds his way through the narrow gate.
At the deepest level, it is a story about overcoming your mistakes, the meaning of suffering and the existence and depth of Gods mercy. Why is there injustice and suffering in the world? Yet our faith and hope and the mercy of God intersects with suffering and injustice, and this conflict between the existence of suffering and injustice on the one hand and mercy on the other hand is one of the deepest mysteries and conflicts we all face in our lives. The heroes in this story are no exception.

The sinner is a man who was accused of sexual misconduct in a high school where he had been a teacher, and who, because of the accusations, can now only find a job as a prison psychologist. It is also a story about how, no matter where you find yourself, it is never too late to find redemption!
The main character is another man unjustly accused of sexual misconduct and, although not prosecuted, is forced to give up his dream of teaching and is assigned to be a prison chaplain.
Each man endures many trials and much suffering that brings out the flaws and strengths in each of their characters. Each man finally succeeds in his journey but only after facing many surprises and much conflict and tests of their faith and hope and ultimately an elaborate intrigue involving a gang leader in the prison which leads to a shocking event that will affect these men and change their destiny forever.
